The Vampire's Hunger

Mathias Hues as my master vampire Bjorn Tremayne
Sudden awareness brought him back to the now—he smelled the human's warm blood at the same time their footfalls filled the hallway. His eyes flashed open. Two people approached down the hall. They darted nervous looks at him. Stopping three doors down, their voices hushed as they located their key-card and hurriedly slipped inside their room amid hushed exchanges. Their door clicked shut. The sound of locks put in place made Tremayne smile inwardly.
He snorted his amusement at the way humans reacted with fear whenever they saw him. His size made humans fearful, but there were other things about him—much more dangerous things. His aura oozed danger, for one. Also, his eyes had gone feral—pupils enlarged from when he'd zeroed in on the female. He could have taken them both within seconds of seeing them. He simply didn't want to leave an obvious trail of drained humans wherever he went. Police didn't frighten him in the least bit. But, humans didn't know that vampires actually existed, and he wanted to keep it that way. Also, he didn't want to leave victims—alive or dead—this close to where he slept throughout the day. That could be a problem. Didn't want detectives waking him up in the middle of the day questioning him—danger of the sun his biggest concern.

That's it,” he muttered, pushing away from the wall. “I'm fucking hungry.”
