Vampire Ascending to Be Released End of November

I was asked today by a young man who rides my bus what my book was like. "I mean is is like Charlaine Harris and Anne Rice?"

"Well," I said thinking quickly. "It's like a cross between Charlaine Harris and Kim Harrison."

Which are my two favorite vampire/urban fantasy authors.

I do remember that when I began this book, I wanted it to be something like both the Sookie Stackhouse, and Rachel Morgan series--and yet be different. Making Sabrina Strong a Touch Clairvoyant was one thing that made her different--from anything I've read so far. Plus, I gave her a problem right away, which was being bitten by a werewolf. And she needed a job. Being a Touch Clairvoyant made most jobs rather difficult for her. Thus, when she comes across the ad that asks for a clairvoyant, the job seems to be made for her.

Thing is, she didn't expect that she would be working for vampires.

All of these little details were in my head at the onset. The creation of the book, and the series was fun. I'm currently on the third book. I hope to send Copperhill my second book in January. The third book, hopefully will be done at some point next summer. We'll go from there.

Meanwhile, I will be featured soon on VampChix--December 8th, in fact. I know I'll be having a book signing at Borders here in DeKalb, in December, and all the other things I have to take care of--like interviews and getting the word out, will come along with it. Having had the first book (Spell of the Black Unicorn)behind me, I know what to expect. Sort of. I hope to sell more books, though.
